Upon ‘Awakening’, it is instantly clear that this EP will contrast all of Milo Mill’s previous work. The 5 track collection embodies obscure, apprehensive aspects of the Austrian producer’s mind, allowing the listener to follow on a hedonistic journey through the infinite darkness and voyage into the abyss. ‘1 3 1 3’ takes on influences of Hip-Hop & Future Bass, but never quite settles on any particular sub-genre within electronic music. Put simply, it is a sound of it’s own; an incomparable, beautifully dark enigma.

Premiere via EARMILK

Reminiscent nostalgia springs to mind when we listen to ‘Distant Memories’, a seamless expression of old-school jazz roots & new age production.
Almost a dozen layers of trumpet are layered upon each other, accompanied by a minimal drum beat & flowing chord changes to create a short yet succinct piece that requires repeat listening on the regular.
The track is a collaborative piece between BrassTracks, a Brooklyn based trumpeter /producer / drummer duo & Alexander Lewis, Multi instrumentalist / producer recently graduated from Manhattan School of Music Jazz Program.
We’re delighted to give this one away for free as an early xmas present ! Heres hoping this isn’t the last link up between these guys.

LEGEND

A lot has changed since we released Trapdoor Volume One over a year & a half ago, especially within electronic music.
Although the Trapdoor blog was humbly built on the foundations of the loosely defined ‘Trap’ genre, Trapdoor Records was established to expand and nurture exciting music that can’t necessarily be bound by a genre tag. 150,000 + followers later & we are still spending countless hours listening to music from across the world as we ultimately want to promote a wider range of music inspired by one key characteristic;
A desire to evolve.
